Remember The Cross

Several times a year I am required to share a devotion with my co-workers. Recently, I had gone to a weekend Scrap Camp excursion...set in the mountains of North Carolina. I always love going to Lutheridge because of the peacefulness and serenity that it holds. At this particular weekend several of us went on a photo-op walk. We traveled up to the Church that sits on the highest point at Lutheridge. Being the picture- taker that I am...I take pictures of everything...and not just one of anything...but many of everything. As I began looking back over my pictures when I returned home...I realized I had taken many various pictures of Crosses. In looking at the array of Crosses...I began to realize that I had taken them at various angles. This became my devotion...I realized that it doesn't matter which way you look at the Cross. Whether you are looking up, looking down, looking at an angle, or looking straight on...the meaning of the Cross never changes...nor does God...nor does His promises. He is the same today as He was 2,000 years ago, as He will be 2,000 years from now. That knowledge (which truly wasn't anything knew to me) gave me such comfort and peace. Especially, at a time when I was feeling very discouraged. As I shared with my co-workers...I encouraged them to always Remember the Cross and when they are feeling discouraged to just take a few moments to look at a Cross and remember it's meaning. That in itself will bring one comfort!!! May you be comforted by the Cross, this day and always.
